5 Day Analog Challenge

Five mornings, about fifteen minutes each. I’ll open my notebook and walk you through the five habits that make an analog system actually stick—setting up the month, planning the week, keeping paper and apps from fighting, seeing where the time really goes, and closing the week out.

Most of you already own a notebook. The challenge is about what goes in it. Join the waitlist and I’ll let you know the moment the next one is scheduled—it’s free.

Matt's open notebook on a desk with a pen resting in the gutter
just a notebook and a pen.

    Five days

    One habit a day

Nothing to buy, nothing to install. Each day is a short live session and one small thing to try in your own notebook.

    1. Day 1

      Set up the month

Give the month ahead a shape before it fills up on its own. One page, five minutes.

    2. Day 2

      Plan the week

Turn the month into one focused week: the goal, the actions, and the time to protect for them.

    3. Day 3

Make paper and apps stop fighting

What belongs on the page and what belongs on a screen, so you stop copying things back and forth.

    4. Day 4

See where the time really goes

Track a single day and find the leaks. Most people are surprised by what they see.

    5. Day 5

      Close the week out

The look-back that keeps you going: your wins, what actually happened, and what to change next week.

A page from Matt's real notebook, a few items crossed out, plain handwriting, no lettering or color
    function over pretty.
    no washi tape required.

    What you need

A notebook and a pen. That’s the whole list. Use the one already in your drawer, even the half-finished one. Any pen is fine.

This isn’t about hand-lettered headers or spreads that look good on Instagram. It’s the plain, functional version that gets you through a Wednesday—the one that still works when the pretty version has long since stopped.

Show up live if you can—I’ll keep each session short. Join the waitlist and I’ll send the schedule as soon as the next challenge is set.

    From the comments

You’re not the only one who started and stopped

“I've tried journaling off and on for the last 3 years. The advice you gave is giving me hope that I'll finally keep up with it.”

    Irene

“I have been trying unsuccessfully for a number of years to get organized. Now everything goes into the notebook. It feels so much better, quicker and more natural.”

    Derek

“I'm a woman who is NOT artsy at all and has ADHD, so I was looking for a SIMPLE set up. I don't need all the bells and whistles.”
